History:
In 1984, Arthur Cores and Steven Kolow opened the restaurant in Newton, Massachusetts. It was a great success and it grew rapidly due to its popularity. Boston Chicken was the original focus of the company. Boston Market was their new name in 1995 to reflect their growing menu.
The company experienced such rapid growth in its early years that they were forced to declare bankruptcy in 1998. McDonald’s bought the restaurant chain in 2000 with the intent of making good use of the real property. The company decided Boston Market could be saved and expanded.
The business became so popular in 1999 that they began selling ready-to-eat meals from their own brand in supermarkets. This was a huge success and solidified the brand’s reputation as a family favourite.

The menu is traditional American and includes rotisserie chickens, ribs meatloaf, turkey, sandwiches as well as bowls, sides soups, salads and desserts.
