Benihana Menu, one of the most popular Asian-themed restaurants in the world, is the perfect place to enjoy a romantic dinner with your partner, a night on a local bar, or a family meal. While you enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine with an American twist, their teppanyaki chefs will amaze you with their knife- and cooking skills. They only use high-quality ingredients, such as fresh vegetables and lean meats. In the 1960’s, their innovative concept of hibachi-style communal dining was popularized worldwide. They hold the record for longest-running dinner show in the world.
Benihana offers a wide range of delicious sushi, hibachi and teppanyaki dishes. You can choose from a family-friendly hibachi or a lounge setting for a more intimate dining experience. There are over 64 Teppanyaki restaurants worldwide, as well as 15 franchises.
They also have 6 Haru and 27 RA Sushi locations. Their “tiki mug”, which they use to make exotic cocktails, is a collector’s item.

History
Rocky Aoki founded Benihana’s in 1954. After graduating from college in Tokyo, Japan, he moved to the United States with the goal of opening his own restaurant. His story is similar to many successful businessmen. He started selling ice cream on the streets in Harlem while attending night school for management. His brilliant idea to serve his treats with brightly colored Japanese umbrellas made his little ice cream stand thrive. Soon enough, he was able to save enough to open his first restaurant.
In 1964, Aoki opened America’s first teppanyaki joint on New York City’s West 59th Street. It was named Benihana’s in honor of his parents’ coffee shop in Tokyo. His top-notch chefs would create authentic Japanese cuisine before customers, seated at tables around a grill and with the decor of a traditional Japanese farmhouse.
The highly skilled chefs’ theatrical knife skills amazed customers and earned him rave reviews from legendary critics. Within six months of opening, he had paid off his loans and made a profit.
Review
Benihana is still the market leader in teppanyaki, despite the fact that there are many other restaurants opening around the world. You can choose from authentic Japanese sake or a wide range of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. There are many options for appetizers and a variety of specialty sushi rolls. You can also choose from the hibachi menu, where you can order everything from chicken to steak. If you are looking for a quieter and more romantic atmosphere, they also have a large lounge menu.
They are known for their exceptional knife skills and will give you a show that will last a lifetime. You will feel transported to Tokyo by the quaint and exotic ambience. It will also give you a relaxed, homey feeling so that you can enjoy your meal.
